Who's Behind Gurugo Labs

Guru Prasad Gomathishankar

Founder and Principal Engineer, Gurugo Labs

Guru Prasad Gomathishankar is an engineering leader and systems builder with experience designing and operating large-scale distributed platforms, recommendation infrastructure, developer tooling, and data-intensive applications.

His work focuses on a recurring engineering problem: how to turn complex, noisy inputs into systems that people can inspect, understand, and trust. He is particularly interested in architectures that combine probabilistic technologies such as large language models with deterministic workflows, traceable evidence, explicit validation, and human judgment.

At Gurugo Labs, Guru applies these principles across several domains. He created ConvictionOS, a private portfolio-intelligence cockpit that separates machine-assisted discovery from disciplined human review. He has also built specialized text-processing and QA tooling for multilingual publishing, documented in the Intelligence field series.

Across these projects, his approach remains consistent: define the system boundary clearly, preserve provenance, make failures visible, and build the verification layer alongside the intelligence layer.

Guru founded Gurugo Labs as an independent engineering laboratory for developing practical systems, documenting what was learned while building them, and exploring how rigorous software architecture can make emerging technologies more useful and trustworthy.
